    This Year's Detroit Tiger Story

How about them Brewers? 23-10. Whodathunkit? I'd say nobody in the solar system saw this coming. Best record in baseball.

If you know baseball, you saw it coming.

well you got former brave catcher-estrada, you got two seasoned vets up the middle in graffino and coucil, not to mention the sons of two of the best players in the late 80s and 90s, Price Fielder and Tony Gwynn.

I still don't know if I'd go out and buy a Brewers jersey quite yet...Long season still left, and they play in a pretty competitive divison. Is there any truth to the rumor that Stan Ross is coming back to town?

One of the biggest reasons as well is that their pitching is solid. Sheets is legit after being hurt most of last season. Capuano is good, and as well as the steal they got from the Cards. (Forgetting his name at the moment) Plus their bullpen is solid. Yost is a good coach as well. I think the Brewers will make their first National League playoff appearance.

The brewers have played the worst schedule in the league so far. Their next 6 series will be real tough. We will see how they do.

In the words of their annoying radio broadcasters "OH MY GOODNESS, THE YANKEES ARE IN SECOND PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHO IS THAT BUT BABE RUTH IN GEORGE'S BOX!!!!! HE'S COMING BACK ALSO!!!! BABE RUTH IS A YANKEE AGAIN!!!"

Gimme a break, how can you honestly cheer for this team.

Re: This Year's Detroit Tiger Story

I wouldn't hand them the division just yet. They have only won 1 series this year so far against a team with a winning record. In their next 6 series as mega mentioned the Brew Crew will face the Mets, Phillies, Twins, Dodgers, Padres, and Braves, so we will really see what they are made of. If they still have the best record in baseball after May 30th I will give them some respect.

I used to be a big National league fan, but I'm a Red Sox fan by trade, and have noticed in the last few years as a whole a good record (eespacially as early as it is), in the national league isn't that big a deal...Just seems the cream of the crop, along with the vast majority of mid grade teams find their homes in the American League, Note the domination of the Braves for all those years, with hardly any World Series tittles to show for it....

Re: This Year's Detroit Tiger Story

maybe if there was a hard cap the national league would do better. I do seem to remember the cardinals winning last year, the marlins winning twice, and the dbacks winning. Over a 10 year span, the AL is 6-4 against the NL and thats even with the Giants practically throwing the world series in the trash can against the Angels. Its pretty even all the way around but it seems like the majority of the world only wants to acknowledge the Yankees and the Red Sox. I enjoyed watching the White Sox win the world series and the majority of people on here said it was boring just because it wasnt the yankees or red sox playing.

Baseball is pretty much garbage overall. Youll never get to see the Royals and Pirates in the world series and thats before either team plays a game. One could argue that they should develop a farm club, but their the ones that always get raped and pillaged for talent i.e. Jason Schmidt and Carlos Beltran.

Id like to see a hard cap, none of that bullcrap luxary tax crap and Id like to see the DH be abandoned completely. The senior circuit is alot more pure to me. The game is beyond ridiculous for large market teams like the dodgers and mets to be spending right at 102-103 million and the yankees spend twice that much.

Obviously you dont get what you pay for sometimes but you know the yanks have alot better chance at winning than Pittsburgh or KC spending 45 million. I didnt even mention the cheap arse Marlins spending 14 million, thats not even worth a debate.
